The Cruddas Park tower blocks to the north of Scotswood Road in Newcastle were built in the 1960s as part of a grand plan for the city.
They were built by Wimpey to a Swedish design, and named after George Cruddas, who was a director of The Armstrong Armament Works that once lined the nearby northern bank of the River Tyne.
The area had slid into decline, but was revitalised during the 1980s and the time has come for some refurbishment, the total cost of which is estimated to be £100 million.
The first phase was the re-naming of Cruddas Park, re christened Riverside Dene.

Hadrian Group re-brand
The Hadrian Group has commenced a major re-brand consisting of Hadrian Architectural Glazing Systems Ltd, Hadrian Window Systems Ltd, West End Joinery and Cabinet Ltd and Inherent Energy Ltd. The Group recognised the need to re-brand itself as a result of the expansion and acquisition of new businesses.
The first task was to adopt a group logo, and after much discussion, this logo was created:

The imagery connects the Hadrian name with the block pattern, echoing Hadrian’s connection to the building industry, the famous wall, and the panel shapes reflect the Group’s product lines.
Each member company has its own specific colour and title, but uses the same font, style and layout. Have a look at our Group website: www.hadriangroup.com.
The next stage of the process will be to re-brand all the Companies vans and transport. Watch this space for further developments.
